The Gosnells Hawks Football Club league team recorded its second defeat of the season by going down to Ballajura by 78 points last Saturday. It will be interesting to see how the team responds when they play the same team at home in round two. It would appear at this early stage of the season Ballajura is the team to beat for the flag. Final scores were Ballajura 17.20 (122) Gosnells 6.8 (44). Lindsay Williams, Josh Hall, Levi Gallagher and Chris Kessell all performed well for the Hawks.
The reserves continue to play well with a 32 point win over Ballajura and advance to second on the premiership ladder. Final scores were Gosnells 13.7 (85) Ballajura 8.5 (53). Best on ground were Nathaniel Reid, Daniel Wise, Luke Drew and Jack O’Reilly.
The colt’s team is starting to show some improvement but went down to Ballajura. Final scores were Ballajura 15.11 (101) Gosnells 6.6 (42). Stefan Little and Tom Stevens were best again for Gosnells. Beaudine Winnar and Aiden Gray also performed well.
The thirds recovered from a moderate start to the game against Brentwood Booragoon to boot 8 goals in the second quarter and go onto a comfortable victory. Final scores were Gosnells 15.16 (106) Brentwood Booragoon 5.2 (32). Best for the Hawks were Max Websdale (7 goals), Alex Taylor, Jaxon Millsteed and Corey Ridley.
The Metro team found Baldivis too good on the day but should bounce back with a home game this week. Final scores were Baldivis 14.10 (94) Gosnells 10.3 (63). Ethan Barry, Lindsay Pickett, Damien Taylor and Devon Coyne were best for Gosnells.
The Gosnells women team tried hard but found the Cottesloe team 36 points in front on the final siren. Final scores were Cottesloe 8.7 (55) Gosnells 2.7 (19). Best were Concetta Molinaro, Sabrina Johnston, Shanyn Morrison and Maddison Briggs.
