The Gosnells Hawks Football Club’s fixture last week against Kenwick saw the league team lose its first game after five straight victories, the colt’s team recording their first win for the season with the reserve team scoring a massive 174 point victory.

League coach Corey Bertram was forced to make seven changes to his team from the previous week and even though the Hawks fought hard Kenwick was superior on the day and recorded a 7 point victory. The game this week against top team Ballajura will be the match of the day with both teams level on five wins at this early stage of the season. Final scores in the league were Kenwick 12.15 (87) Gosnells 11.14 (80). Billy Blanket, Jayden Woods, Scott Lewis and Cam Hayden all performed well for the Hawks.

The reserve team bounced back from a defeat last week with a massive victory over Kenwick. Final scores in the reserves were Gosnells 27.16 (178) Kenwick 0.4 (4). Best for the Hawks were Mitchell Withers, Tristan Edgill, Joseph Hill and Kyle Wood.

The colt’s finally put a win on the board with a 38 point win over a gallant Kenwick. The Rodney Pollock Memorial Medal was won by Gosnells Captain Stefan Little. Others to play well were Tom Stevens, Dylan Curley and Coree Thomson. Final scores were Gosnells 16.8 (104) Kenwick 9.12 (66).

Next Saturday 19 May the league, reserves and colt’s travel to Kingfisher Oval, Ballajura  to play Ballajura, the thirds play Brentwood Booragoon at Karoonda Oval at 4.45 pm, the Women play Cottesloe at Cottesloe Oval at 11 am and the Metro league play Baldivis at Baldivis Park, Baldivis at 2.30 pm on Sunday 20 May.
