The Gosnells Hawks Football Club quest for WAAFL finals glory ended at the hands of Ballajura Football Club last week when the Hawks reserves lost by 14 points in the Preliminary Final. This result was similar to last year when the team lost by 6 points to Warnbro Swans in the same final. Ballajura started strongly and had 5 goals on the board before Gosnells troubled the scoreboard attendant. Ballajura lead by 31 points at half time but Gosnells started to play exciting football and reduced the margin to only 7 points early into the last quarter. Just when the large contingent of supporters thought Gosnells would go on and win, Ballajura was able to score from a turnover in the middle of the ground and open up a 14 point margin. Despite many chances in the remaining 15 minutes Gosnells was unable to reduce the margin which ended another disappointing season for the team.

Final scores were Ballajura 9.8 (62) Gosnells 7.6 (48). Michael Handgraaf, Mitchell Withers, Ashley Pescod, and Tim Hale all played well for Gosnells.
