The Gosnells Hawks Football league team was successful in defeating a determined Quinns District team last Saturday. The Hawks held control for most of the game to run out victors by 35 points. Final scores were Gosnells 13.11 (89) Quinns District 8.6 (54). Best for the Hawks were Caleb Goodhew, Hayden Yarran, Billy Blanket and Tim Hale.

The reserve team did not perform up to expectations and went down by 13 points. Coach Steve Davis is looking for his team to improve this week with a win over rival Bassendean.

Quinns District was far too experienced for a young Gosnells colt’s team and ran out easy winners. Final scores were Quinns District 20.13 Gosnells 2.1 (13). Best for the Hawks were Tom Stevens, Michael Vidich, Stefan Little and Lleyton Bagovits.

The Metro League team struggled against a class opposition and went down by 60 points. Final scores were Warwick Greenwood 15.13 (103) Gosnells 6.7 (43). Best for the Hawks were Ethan Barry, Bryan Lutter, Jay Divitini and Blake Zessin.

The Gosnells Hawks Women’s team playing in the WAAFL competition for the first time performed well but were defeated by 14 points. Final scores were Forrestdale 6.5 (41) Gosnells 4.3 (27). Best for the Hawks were Eleanor Brooks, Jade Turton, Ashlee Howson and Natasha Patterson.

This week all teams are at home. On Saturday the league, reserves and colt’s take on Bassendean and the thirds play Belmont Districts. On Sunday the women’s team and the Metro League team are both in action with the women playing University at 12.30 pm and the Metro League playing Midland at 2.30pm. This is a rare opportunity to see all Gosnells Football Club teams in action on the same weekend. Members and supporters are encouraged to get to Gosnells Oval and support your local teams. Entrance to the ground is free.
