History was created by the Gosnells Hawks Football Club on the 3 June 2017 when father and son Nathan and Ethan Hansen took the field in the West Australian Amateur Football League fixture Gosnells v Warnbro Swans at the Warnbro Sporting Complex, Warnbro. It is the first recorded time a father and son have represented the club in the same game. Club Historian and Statistician George Leathley could not recall this happening since records were kept from the 1950’s.

Nathan is a Life Member, a former club captain and has played 180 league games for the club. Ethan is 16 years of age and plays his football at Trinity College PSA and with the Perth Colts in the West Australian Football League. Ethan acquitted himself well in his first senior game and demonstrated sure ball handling and decision making skills and looks set for a bright future in the sport.

The Gosnells Football Club has again proved its ability to provide a pathway to a higher level for players with several players achieving milestones in recent weeks. Jye Clements played his first WAFL league game with East Fremantle, Josh Hall and Zac Ridley were selected in the WAAFL State U 23’sTeam that played Queensland at the Gold Coast last Sunday and Coree Thomson was selected in the WAAFL State Colts Team. Gosnells Football Club has some of the best facilities in the league, Level 1 & 2 coaches, qualified medical staff and a gymnasium for members.

The club is in the process of putting together a Women’s Team and extends an invitation to girls and women to join this progressive club. For further information please ring club on 9398 3328.
