Result Week 15

July 28, 2018

The Gosnells Hawks Football Club league team missed an opportunity to move back into the top five with a loss to Kenwick last Saturday. A win over top club Ballajura this week would appear the last chance for the league team to qualify for the finals. Kenwick handled the wet conditions better to record a 6 point victory. Final scores were Kenwick 7.10 (52) Gosnells 6.10 (46). Best for the Hawks were Chris Watterston, Luke Chapman, Josh Hall and Christian Agostino.

The reserves consolidated second place on the ladder and will move to top if they defeat leader Ballajura this week. Final scores were Gosnells 13.11 (89) Kenwick 1.1 (7). Best for the Hawks were Dean Stauborg, Ashley Pescod, Lindsay Williams and Brayden Watkins.

The thirds continue to impress under coach Sam Parker and recorded another impressive victory. Final scores were Gosnells 8.11 (74) Ballajura 2.1 (13). Best for Gosnells were Reuben Barham, Dennis Luffman, Jack Phillis and Justin Abernathy.
The colts bounced back to record an exciting victory. Final scores were Gosnells 13.14 (92) Kenwick 4.9 (33). Coree Thomson, Raymond Shaw, Cailem Narkle and Stefan Little were best players.

The Metro League team played well but found Midland too good on the day. Final scores were Midland 16.11 (92) Gosnells 6.4 (40). Best for the Hawks were Devon Coyne, Daniel Grigg, Michael Chaplin and Leroy Narkle.
Last Saturday saw two of the club favourite sons play milestone games. Richard Mardsen played his 250th and Matthew Hopewell his 200th club game.

This week the league, reserves and colts are home to Ballajura at Gosnells Oval, the thirds play Piara Waters at Piara Waters Sporting Pavilion at 4.45 pm and the Metro team play Wanneroo at Wanneroo Showgrounds at 4.45 pm all games on Saturday. The women’s Hawks team play Cottesloe at Gosnells at 12.30 pm Sunday.
